We’re thrilled to share that applications for the Huddle programme are now officially open.

With the recent success of the Cymru Women’s Team in the Euro play-offs, there’s never been a better moment to grow girls’ football at your club.

Huddle is all about creating a fun, friendly, and inclusive space for girls aged 4–11 to fall in love with the beautiful game. With centres across Wales, it provides a relaxed and sociable environment where girls can enjoy their first steps in football. More details on the programme can be found here: Huddle – FAW

FAW Coach Developer Course
Further to last weeks email about the launch of our Coach Developer Programme,  the event will be taking place this evening from 7pm to 8pm.
For those looking to join, the link can be found here:
A s a reminder, the roles are designed to support Grassroots Coaches. We have successfully recruited six part-time Grassroots Coach Developers who will implement the programme across the six Areas at no cost.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
– Facilitate regional coaching workshops
– Initiate, establish, and support communities of practice within clubs and leagues
– Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring support to club coach coordinators (initially for Gold & Platinum clubs)
– Assist coaches in advancing along the coach education pathway
This initiative represents an exciting opportunity to enhance our coach education offerings and provide additional support to our Grassroots Coaches, thereby improving the football experience for all participants.
Area Associations and Leagues will play a vital role in helping shape the content delivered and id entifying those who would benefit most from support.

Cymru Football Foundation’s Equipment Fund

On Monday 18th November, the Cymru Football Foundation’s Equipment Fund will re-open for football clubs to access grants of up to £25,000.

This time around, the CFF will only require 10% partner funding from clubs who apply, and we have a range of different equipment, but not limited to:

  • Pitch Maintenance Equipment
  • Security Fencing
  • Goals
  • Storage Containers
  • Portable floodlights

The FAW are pleased to inform you that Coach Cymru, our CPD platform, will be powered by the Coaches Voice. This partnership is designed to further enhance the world-class coach education already on offer to coaches carrying out their learning with the FAW.
Later this summer the refreshed Coach Cymru platform will provide coaches at all levels, from grassroots to elite, with exclusive content designed specifically to enhance their learning. As well as bespoke content produced with FAW practitioners and elite coaches coming through the FAW pathway, the platform will also give wide-ranging access to Coaches’ Voice educational content.
Coaches can enjoy top-level coach-education content filmed with clubs including Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle and Valencia, and tactical masterclass content with the likes of José Mourinho, Xabi Alonso and Pep Lijnders. One-to-one and grassroots sessions, topic-led webinars and a huge bank of session plans and practices are also available, supporting the FAW’s ongoing commitment to providing its coaches with the best possible learning experience.
For existing Coach Cymru+ subscribers you don’t need to do anything. The changes made to the platform will automatically be applied to your student profile.
